Eric Labaye is President of École Polytechnique since September 2018 and President of Institut Polytechnique de Paris, created in May 2019 by École Polytechnique, ENSTA Paris, ENSAE Paris, Télécom Paris and Télécom SudParis. In his previous role, Eric Labaye was Senior Partner at McKinsey & Company and Chairman of the McKinsey Global Institute (MGI), its business & economic research arm. Prior to this, he was Managing Director of the France office and led the firm’s Global Knowledge and Communication as a member of the Global Executive Committee. He was also a member of the Shareholders Council of the firm (Global Board) for ten years, of which he chaired the Client Committee.

Agnès Pannier-Runacher has been appointed Minister Delegate for Industry, attached to the Minister of the Economy, Finance and the Recovery Bruno Le Maire in July 2020. She was before Deputy Minister to the Minister of Economy and Finance Bruno Le Maire, appointed in October 2018. Before joining the Government in 2018, she was Deputy Chief Executive Officer at Compagnie des Alpes (2013-18), a leading listed player in the European leisure industry and world leader in managing ski areas. She graduated from HEC and ENA civil service school. She holds CEMS Master’s degreee (HEC-Köln--Universität).

Third Vice-President of the Government of Spain and Minister for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge

Teresa Ribera is the Spanish Vice-President and Minister for the Ecological Transition. Prior to that, Ms Ribera was Director of the Institute for Sustainable Development and International Relations (IDDRI) from 2014 to 2018, and enabled the Institute to play a key role in the negotiation of the Paris Climate Agreement and the transition towards sustainable development. She served as the Spanish Secretary of State for Climate Change and Biodiversity from 2008 to 2011, responsible for environmental and climate policies, as well as the National Meteorological Agency. A public official from the Senior Corps of State Civil Administrators, she has also taught at the Autonomous University of Madrid.

Since 15 September 2022, Jo Tyndall is Director, Environment Directorate at the OECD where she oversees the implementation of the Directorate’s programme of work, covering a broad range of environmental issues, including green growth; climate change; biodiversity; quality of ecosystems; eco-innovation; circular economy; and, resource productivity. She was, most recently, New Zealand High Commissioner (Ambassador) to Singapore from February 2019 to September 2022. Prior to that, Jo served as New Zealand’s Climate Change Ambassador, commencing this role in June 2010. From 2016 to December 2018, she also co-chaired the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change’s (UNFCCC) Ad Hoc Working Group on the Paris Agreement (APA).

In 2018, at the global conference Women Economic Forum (WEF) in New Delhi, she received the prestigious award Woman of the Decade in Public Life for heading the European Green Capital 2016 project.

She joined WEA as a Legal Research Intern in 2011 after graduating from law school with a focus on Environmental and Federal Indian Law. Kahea has a background in critical theory and human rights, and has lived and traveled around the world, including studying the shifting terrain of ethno-political conflict in Northern Ireland, and the ongoing impact of colonization on the construction of culture and identity in the Pacific. Dr Rajendra Shende served for 20 years as global Head of the OzonAction mission of the United Nations Environment Programme, (UNEP) in Paris. He served as Review Editor for the IPCC Special report on Technology Transfer in 2000 . He was Coordinating Lead Author ( CLA) for the IPCC’s special report on Safeguarding the Ozone layer and Global Climate System that won Nobel Peace Prize in 2007.He established ten regional networks of the 146 developing countries and 30 developed countries to accelerate the implementation of the Montreal Protocol. His OzonAction programme became the first in the United Nations to bag two awards from the United States Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) for global efforts to protect the ozone layer and Climate systems. Dr Shende currently serving as the Director of Green TERRE Foundation which is a not-for-profit organization engaged in localising the SDGs and Net Zero in University campus. Estelle Brachlianoff is a graduate of the École Polytechnique and the Ponts et Chaussées engineering school and became Chief Executive Officer of Veolia in July 2022. Previously she worked at the Val-d’Oise infrastructure department of the Paris metropolitan area in 1998 as head of the major infrastructure department. In 2002, she became advisor to the Prefect of the Ile-de-France region, in charge of transportation and development. She joined Veolia Environmental Services in 2005 as special advisor to the CEO. She became CEO of Veolia Environmental Services Cleaning and Multiservices in 2008 and of Veolia Environmental Services Ile-de-France in 2010. In 2012, she became CEO of Veolia Environmental Services in the UK. She was also a member of the President’s Committee of the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) from 2013 to 2018 and was President of the French Chamber of Britain from June 2016 to July 2018. A member of Veolia’s executive committee since 2013 and director of the UK and Ireland zone from 2013 to 2018, Estelle Brachlianoff was Veolia’s deputy CEO since September 1, 2018 to 2022. Since 2019, Estelle Brachlianoff has been a member of the Supervisory Board of Hermès International and a member of its Audit and Risk Committee and its CAG-CSR Committee.

CNRS Research Director and Professor at the Ecole Polytechnique, Director of the Laboratoire de Méteorologie Dynamique (LMD) (Ecole Polytechnique in co-supervision with CNRS, ENS Paris and Sorbonne University) and of the Energy4Climate Interdisciplinary Centre at the Institut Polytechnique de Paris, Phillipe’s research focuses on meteorology, the study of Mediterranean climate variability and evolution and energy transition. He has coordinated many national and international programmes on Mediterranean meteorology and climate and their impacts on water and energy. He coordinates the HyMeX international programme to study the water cycle in the Mediterranean within the World Climate Research Programme. At Ecole Polytechnique, he manages the interdisciplinary research programme TREND-X on energy transition. He is the author of more than 140 book chapters and articles in international peer-reviewed journals. He also teaches courses on climate change and renewable energy resources at Institut Polytechnique de Paris and is responsible for the pedagogical aspects of continuing education on energy transition.

Thibaud Vergé is the Vice-president of the French Competition Authority (Autorité de la concurrence). He was previously researcher at CREST (Laboratoire d’Economie Industrielle, Sept. 2005 – Jan. 2010) as well as Senior Academic Consultant to CRA (2008-2010) and lecturer in Economics at the University of Southampton (2002-2005) and Bristol (2000-2002). Thibaud holds a PhD in Economics from the Toulouse School of Economics and an Habilitation (HDR) from Université Paris 1. He has been teaching industrial economics and competition policy in various programs including ENSAE Paris (since 2005), Ecole Polytechnique (2006-2014), Brussels School of Competition (2011-2013). His academic work focuses on industrial organization and competition policy (with a particular focus on vertical restraints).

Peter Tankov is professor of quantitative finance at ENSAE Paris (IP Paris), the French national school for statistics and economic administration, having previously worked at Paris-Diderot (Paris 7) university and Ecole Polytechnique. He is a mathematician, specialist in applied probability and stochastic processes. His current research interests include quantitative finance, energy finance, and green and sustainable finance. Peter is the author of over 50 research articles on these and other topics and of the widely read book, Financial Modelling with Jump Processes. He is the recepient of the 2016 Best Young Researcher in Finance award of the Europlace Institute of Finance and the principal investigator of several national grants. Peter is the scientific director of the Green and Sustainable Finance Research Program at Louis Bachelier Institute, member of the board of directors of GRASFI, the Global Research Alliance for Sustainable Finance and and Investment, and member of editorial boards of the main quantitative finance journals: Mathematical Finance, Finance and Stochastics and SIAM Journal on Financial Mathematics.

Isabelle Spiegel is a graduate with an engineering degree from the École des Mines de Douai and the Technische Universität Berlin. She began her career at a Chamber of Commerce and Industry, before moving on to provide consultancy services for almost 15 years to PricewaterhouseCoopers clients on Corporate Social Responsibility. She spent two years in China and directed international task forces preparing publications by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development. In 2015, she went on to Arcadis to head up its Environment activities in France and oversee the development of the Sustainable Development business for Arcadis’s Europe, United Kingdom and Middle East region. Isabelle joined VINCI SA in August 2019 where she was appointed Environment Director of VINCI and will be named to the VINCI Executive Committee in April 2022.
